How Kelz Everclean Began
Hi, I’m Adekelu Ogunleye, though most people know me as Kelu. I started Kelz Everclean in 2020, at a time when most people were pulling back. I leaned in.
I have always been tough-skinned. Leaving Nigeria and starting over in Canada taught me I could build a life from nothing, and I was ready to do it again on my own terms. It began simply, with just me and a family friend cleaning homes side by side. When she moved on, I carried it forward alone.
I never expected what came next. Word spread, referrals kept coming, and before long I had more bookings than I could handle on my own.
I was ready to quit. It was too much for one person. But I felt Called to keep going, to register it as a real business, to build a team, and to create financial freedom for others by giving people meaningful work and a community worth belonging to.
So that is what I did. Today, Kelz Everclean is a growing team of dedicated professionals serving homes and businesses across Greater Sudbury, and we are just getting started.
A Black-Owned, Community-Invested Business
For me, being a Black-owned business means more than who owns it. It means building something that lifts other people up. Kelz Everclean was created to offer dependable help people can trust, and to open doors for the people who make our work possible.
Most of our team are newcomers and international students, and mentoring them is the part of this work I am proudest of. I invest in their growth and help them build their own financial success. Some have gone on to launch cleaning companies of their own, and nothing makes me prouder. So when you book with Kelz Everclean, you are supporting a whole community of people chasing their dreams.
At the heart of it all is a simple belief: acts of service, done with kindness, have the power to change someone's day, and sometimes their life.

In 2022, I was honoured as a YWCA Sudbury Woman of Distinction for entrepreneurship. That recognition meant the world, not because of the title, but because it affirmed something I believe deeply: that showing up with care and doing honest work well truly matters. It only deepened my commitment to serving this community the way it deserves.
